Qofte Shqiptare (Albanian Meatballs)

Qofte Shqiptare are tender, flavourful Albanian meatballs often served with yogurt, ajvar, or fresh salad.

They are quick to prepare, great for weeknight dinners, and just as good tucked into flatbread for an easy lunch.

Ingredients

  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Breadcrumbs
  • 500 g Minced Beef or beef-lamb mix
  • Black Pepper, to taste
  • 1 Eggs
  • 1 Onion grated
  • 1 tsp Dried Mint
  • 1 tbsp Oil for frying if needed

Method

  1. Mix all ingredients and rest for 20 minutes.
  2. Shape into oval patties or meatballs.
  3. Grill, pan-fry, or air-fry until browned and cooked through.
  4. Serve hot with yogurt or ajvar.
