Air Fryer Cheeseburger

These air-fryer cheeseburgers give you classic burger flavour with less mess and a quick cook time. Seasoned beef patties stay tender and finish with melted cheese in minutes.

Serve in toasted buns with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and your favourite sauces. Add chips or a side salad to round out a simple midweek meal.

Method

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 190°C for 3 minutes.
  2. Mix the beef mince with salt and black pepper, then divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties slightly wider than the buns.
  3. Place patties in a single layer in the basket and air fry for 8 minutes, turning halfway.
  4. Top each patty with a cheese slice and cook for 1-2 minutes more until melted and the burgers are cooked through.
  5. Toast the split buns in the air fryer for 1 minute if desired.
  6. Assemble with lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, and sauces. Serve hot.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 Red Onion thinly sliced
  • 8 leaves Lettuce washed
  • 1 Tomato sliced
  • 4 slices Cheddar Cheese or burger slices
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper freshly ground
  • 4 Burger Buns split
  • 500g Beef Mince 15-20% fat preferred
  • 8 slices Pickles optional
  • Ketchup optional, to serve
  • 1 tsp Sea Salt or to taste
  • Mustard optional, to serve

Notes

Use mince with a little fat (around 15-20%) for juicier burgers.
Cook in batches if needed so air can circulate around each patty.
For food safety, cook burgers until the centre reaches 71°C.
