  1. Heat a pan over medium heat, add a little olive oil, and sauté the onions until translucent. Add the spinach and cook until wilted. Let the mixture cool.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sautéed spinach and onions with crumbled feta cheese, chopped dill, and a pinch of nutmeg. Mix well.
  3. Prepare the dumpling wrappers on a clean surface. Place a spoonful of the spinach and feta mixture into the centre of each wrapper.
  4. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water, fold to enclose the filling, and press the edges to seal.
  5. Bring a pot of salted water to a boil, or prepare a steamer. Cook the dumplings in batches, either by boiling for 3-4 minutes or steaming for about 5 minutes, until the wrappers are tender.
  6. Serve the dumplings warm with a side of creamy tzatziki sauce for dipping.

Ingredients

  • pinch Nutmeg
  • 200g Spinach washed and chopped fresh
  • Olive Oil for sautéing
  • 1 Onion finely chopped medium

Notes

For an extra flavour boost, you can add a bit of minced garlic to the spinach while sautéing. If using store-bought dumpling wrappers, ensure they're thawed if frozen.

To make these dumplings ahead of time, prepare and freeze them on a baking sheet, then transfer to a freezer bag for storage.

Boil or steam directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
