Cheese & Bacon Toastie
This cheese and bacon toastie is a quick comfort classic with crisp buttered bread and gooey cheese.
Perfect for lunch or a speedy evening bite, with plenty of crunch and savoury flavour.
Ingredients
- 6 rashers Smoked Streaky Bacon cooked until crisp
- Black Pepper freshly ground, to taste
- 4 slices Thick White Bread
- 1 tsp Dijon Mustard optional
- 25g Unsalted butter softened
- 120g Cheddar grated
Method

- Prep all ingredients before you start cooking.
- Cook the base ingredients over a medium heat until fragrant and lightly coloured.
- Add the remaining ingredients in stages, stirring so everything cooks evenly.
- Simmer or bake until tender, then check seasoning before serving.
- Rest briefly, then serve hot.
Notes
Butter the outside of the bread for the best golden crust.
Cook over medium heat so the cheese melts before the bread over-browns.
