Char Siu Fried Rice
A quick, savoury fried rice made with char siu-style pork, peas, egg and spring onions.
Turn cooked char siu pork, egg noodles and crunchy vegetables into a fast, savoury stir-fry. The sauce is mixed in the wok so every strand of noodle is well coated.
Cook the egg noodles according to the packet instructions, drain well and toss with a few drops of sesame oil so they do not clump.
Heat the cooking oil in a large wok or frying pan over high heat. Stir-fry the onion and cabbage for 2 minutes, then add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Add the sliced cooked char siu pork and beansprouts. Toss for 1–2 minutes until hot and the vegetables are just tender.
Add the drained noodles, soy sauce and oyster sauce. Toss firmly for 2–3 minutes until the noodles are coated and hot throughout.
Finish with the sesame oil, sliced spring onions and black pepper. Toss once more and serve straight away.
Keep cooking
