Chicken with Ginger and Spring Onion
A quick Chinese-style chicken stir-fry with fresh ginger, garlic and spring onion.
This quick black pepper beef brings together tender beef, sweet onion and a savoury soy sauce glaze.
Slice everything before you start cooking, as the stir-fry comes together in minutes. Serve with steamed rice or noodles.
Pat the beef dry and slice it thinly across the grain. Slice the onion and crush the garlic.
Heat the oil in a large wok or frying pan over high heat. Add the beef in a single layer and stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until browned.
Add the onion and cook for 2 minutes, stirring often, until it starts to soften. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
Pour in the soy sauce and add the black pepper. Toss everything together for 1 minute until the beef is coated and the sauce clings to it.
Taste and adjust the pepper or soy sauce, then serve immediately with steamed rice or noodles.
