Airfryer Sausage Cheese & Bean Melt

Airfryer Sausage Cheese & Bean Melt

Air Fryer
serves 4

A crisp-edged air-fryer melt layered with baked beans, sliced sausage and sharp cheddar. It is quick, filling and built from familiar ingredients without turning the kitchen into a washing-up project.

Use thick bread or a sturdy split roll so the bean layer stays contained, then finish until the cheese bubbles and the edges are golden.

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C. Butter one side of each slice of bread, then place the bread butter-side down on a board or tray.

  2. Stir the baked beans with the Worcestershire sauce, if using, then spoon a contained layer over the bread, leaving a small border around the edges.

  3. Scatter over the sliced cooked sausages and most of the cheddar, pressing the topping down lightly so it sits securely.

  4. Lift the melts into the air-fryer basket and cook for 8-10 minutes, until the bread is crisp underneath and the cheese is bubbling and golden.

  5. Finish with the remaining cheddar for the last minute if you want a thicker cheese top, then rest for 1 minute before adding spring onions and serving.
