  1. Heat oven to 240°C (220°C fan) and place a tray or pizza stone inside to preheat.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan, then cook onion until softened. Add garlic and cook briefly.
  3. Add minced beef and cook until browned, breaking it up well.
  4. Stir in tomato purée, passata, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Simmer until thick and spoonable, then cool slightly.
  5. Roll or stretch pizza dough on a floured surface to your preferred thickness.
  6. Spread the bolognese topping over the dough, leaving a small border at the edges.
  7. Scatter mozzarella evenly, then add parmesan if using.
  8. Transfer to the hot tray/stone and bake 10–14 minutes until the crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
  9. Finish with basil leaves and slice to serve.

Ingredients

  • 200 g Mozzarella grated or torn
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 large ball Pizza dough or 2 small bases
  • Basil fresh, optional, to serve
  • 30 g Parmesan grated, optional

  • 1 small Onion finely chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp Oregano dried
