Air-Fried Salted Potato Chips

These air-fried salted potato chips are a lighter way to get that crisp, savoury snack feel at home. A quick toss in olive oil helps the slices colour evenly and develop a proper crunch.

Cook in single layers and shake regularly for the best texture. They are ideal as a quick bite, a side for burgers, or a snack to share straight from the basket.

Method

15m20m35m
  1. Rinse and dry the potato slices well, then pat completely dry with kitchen paper.
  2. Toss the slices with olive oil and sea salt in a large bowl until evenly coated.
  3. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C. Arrange potato slices in a single layer (cook in batches to avoid overlap).
  4. Air fry each batch for 14–20 minutes, shaking every 5 minutes, until the chips are golden and crisp.
  5. Transfer to a rack for 2 minutes to finish crisping, then season with extra salt and serve warm.

Ingredients

  • 600 g waxy potatoes scrubbed and sliced into 2–3 mm rounds
  • 1/2 tsp Sea Salt plus extra to taste
  • 15 ml Olive Oil

Notes

For crispest chips, keep slices thin and consistent so they cook evenly.
If your air fryer basket is small, cook in more batches rather than overcrowding.
Serve immediately; chips soften as they cool.
