Grilled Beef Kebabs with Preserved Lemon Dip

These grilled beef kebabs are packed with warm spices and cooked until beautifully charred outside while staying tender inside.

The preserved lemon dip adds a sharp, savoury lift that balances the richness of the meat, making this a standout dish for BBQs, weeknight grills, or sharing platters.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 tsp Lemon Juice for dip
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 180 g Greek yogurt for dip
  • Salt, to taste
  • 700 g Beef Steak sirloin or rump, cut into cubes
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • Black Pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp Ground coriander
  • 1 tsp Paprika smoked preferred
  • 1 tbsp Parsley chopped, to finish
  • 1 tbsp Preserved Lemon finely chopped peel only

Method

  1. In a bowl, toss beef cubes with olive oil, garlic, cumin, paprika, coriander, salt, and pepper.
  2. Marinate for at least 20 minutes (or up to 2 hours in the fridge).
  3. Thread beef onto skewers and preheat grill or griddle to high heat.
  4. Grill kebabs for 8–10 minutes, turning every 2–3 minutes, until charred and cooked to your preference.
  5. For the dip, mix Greek yogurt, preserved lemon, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.
  6. Rest kebabs for 3 minutes, then serve with preserved lemon dip and chopped parsley.

Notes

Soak wooden skewers for 20 minutes before grilling to prevent burning.

Do not overcook the beef—high heat and short cook time keeps kebabs juicy.

Rest kebabs briefly after grilling for better tenderness.
