Air-Fried Crispy Chicken Strips with Honey Mustard Dip
These air-fried chicken strips are coated in seasoned breadcrumbs so they come out crisp on the outside while staying juicy in the middle. A little oil spray is all you need to get a deep golden finish without deep-frying.
The honey mustard dip is creamy, sweet and tangy, and it comes together in minutes while the chicken cooks. Serve with fries, salad, or wraps for a family-friendly midweek meal.

- Preheat the air fryer to 200°C. Set up three bowls with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with paprika, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Pat the chicken strips dry. Coat each strip first in flour, then egg, then the seasoned breadcrumbs, pressing lightly so the coating sticks.
- Lightly spray the coated chicken strips with olive oil spray on both sides.
- Place the chicken strips in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving small gaps between pieces.
- Air fry for 10-12 minutes at 200°C, turning halfway through, until crisp, golden, and cooked through to 75°C.
- While the chicken cooks, mix mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, honey, and lemon juice in a bowl until smooth.
- Taste the dip and adjust with a little more honey for sweetness or mustard for extra tang.
- Serve the hot chicken strips with the honey mustard dip.

- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 600 g Chicken breast cut into strips
- 120 g Panko Breadcrumbs
- 1 tbsp Olive Oil for spraying
- 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- 2 Eggs beaten
- 60 g Plain Flour
- 1 tbsp Honey
- 1 tsp Paprika
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
- 80 g Mayonnaise
Notes
For extra crunch, use panko breadcrumbs and press them firmly onto each strip before air frying.
Cook in batches so the basket is not overcrowded; this keeps the coating crisp.
Check the thickest strip reaches 75°C before serving.
