Ingredients

  • 4 Garlic Cloves crushed
  • 2 tbsp Honey
  • 1.2 kg Beef Short Ribs
  • 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • 1 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 2 tbsp Tomato purée
  • 400 ml Beef Stock
  • 1 Onion roughly chopped

Method

  1. Season the ribs well, then brown on all sides in a heavy casserole.
  2. Add onion and garlic and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened.
  3. Stir in stock and tomato purée, cover, and braise at 160°C for 2.5 hours until tender.
  4. Mix honey, soy and paprika for the glaze, brush over ribs, then roast uncovered for 15 minutes.
  5. Serve with the reduced pan juices and mashed potatoes or buttered greens.
