Cheese & Onion Pasties

A classic British favourite, these cheese and onion pasties are packed with a deliciously savoury filling encased in golden, flaky pastry.

Ingredients

  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • 15ml Butter
  • 1 Egg beaten

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan)/Gas Mark 6.
  2. Heat the butter in a pan over medium heat, then add the chopped onion. Cook until soft and translucent.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cooked onions, grated cheese, mashed potato, mustard, and seasoning.
  4. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into four equal circles.
  5. Divide the filling between the pastry circles, leaving a small border.
  6. Fold each circle in half and press the edges together with a fork to seal.
  7. Brush with beaten egg and place on a lined baking tray.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving
