Method

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add the ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks.
  5. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes.
  6. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the shredded cheese until melted and well combined.
  7. Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  8. Warm the tortillas in the microwave for about 20 seconds to make them pliable.
  9. Place about 2 tablespoons of the beef mixture onto each tortilla and roll them up tightly. Secure with toothpicks if necessary.
  10. Arrange the taquitos seam-side down on the baking tray. Lightly brush with vegetable oil.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden and crispy.
  12. Serve hot with your favourite toppings such as sour cream, guacamole, and salsa.

Ingredients

  • 1 Onion finely chopped medium
  • 500g Beef ground
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • Vegetable Oil for brushing
  • 3ml Paprika
  • 15ml Olive Oil

Notes

For a healthier option, you can air-fry the taquitos at 200°C for 10-12 minutes or until golden and crispy.

Ensure the tortillas are warm before rolling to prevent them from cracking.
