Chicken Skewers with Guasacaca

These Chicken Skewers paired with Guasacaca, a vibrant Venezuelan avocado-based sauce, offer a perfect balance of smoky and fresh flavours. The chicken is marinated in a blend of lime juice, Worcestershire sauce, and spices, then grilled to perfection. The Guasacaca sauce, made with avocados, herbs, and a tang of lime, complements the chicken beautifully, adding a creamy texture and a burst of freshness. This dish is ideal for outdoor gatherings or a family BBQ.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • Chicken, to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 cup Parsley
  • 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Lime juiced
  • 1/2 Red Onion

  1. Combine chicken, lime juice, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, and spices in a bowl. Ensure chicken is evenly coated. Marinate for at least 1 hour.
  2. Thread the marinated chicken onto soaked bamboo skewers. Grill over high heat for about 5-6 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
  3. For the Guasacaca, blend avocados, red onion, jalapenos, lime juice, green pepper, garlic, cilantro, parsley, red wine vinegar, and olive oil until smooth. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Serve the grilled chicken skewers with a side of Guasacaca sauce.

Notes

Marinating the chicken for longer will enhance the flavours. If barbecuing isn't an option, these skewers can also be cooked under a grill.
