Bacon & Cheese Puff Pastry Rolls

Bacon & Cheese Puff Pastry Rolls are quick, flaky and packed with savoury flavour. Crisp bacon and melty cheese are wrapped in buttery pastry and baked until deeply golden.

They are ideal for lunchboxes, party platters or easy weekend snacking, and can be served warm or at room temperature.

Method

  1. Heat the oven to 200°C and line a tray with baking paper.
  2. Cook the bacon in a dry pan until crisp, then cool slightly.
  3. Mix bacon, cheddar, cream cheese, spring onion and black pepper.
  4. Unroll the pastry and spread the filling evenly over the surface.
  5. Roll tightly into a log, then chill for 10 minutes for neat slicing.
  6. Slice into 2.5 cm rounds and place on the tray.
  7. Brush with beaten egg and bake for 18–22 minutes until golden.
  8. Cool briefly before serving.

Ingredients

  • 200 g Bacon finely chopped
  • 1 Egg beaten, for glaze
  • 150 g Cheddar grated
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 sheet Puff Pastry ready-rolled
  • 80 g Cream cheese softened
  • 2 Spring Onion finely sliced

Notes

Season to taste and adjust timings slightly depending on your hob/oven.
